Related imageYour Girl Scout Leader and Co-Leader aren't paid positions. They are Volunteers with a desire to teach all the girls in your troop what it means to be a Girl Scout. A Girl Scout Leader puts in a ton of volunteering hours to make the troops experience AWESOME!!!! She has paperwork to do, badges to figure out, meetings to plan, craft projects to shop for, GS badges to purchase, places to contact for field trips, The Woods Service Unit monthly meetings to attend, attend with your girls to The Woods Service Unit events, and Girl Scouts or Colorado Events to attend, Girl Scout leader training to attend, First Aid and CPR class to do, Fall Product and Cookie Sales to manage. CAN YOU SAY SHE IS A LITTLE BUSY AND UNDER PAID!!!!

Her payment for doing all this volunteering is with the smiles and hugs she receives from the girls in her troop. If she didn't have the desire to be a leader and see all the positive outcomes from being in Girl Scouts, then she wouldn't do it.

We all want a little recognition when we work hard. So get the other parents together and THANK YOUR LEADERS!!!!!

  • Get them a gift card to a restaurant - so she can spend some time with her family!!!
  • Get her a gift card to Starbucks - especially if she is a coffee drinker and staying up late working on GS stuff - which we all do!!!
  • A card signed by all the parents and girls saying what an awesome job she is doing!!!
  • A bag of sweets - and let her know how sweet she is for volunteering
  • Make a scrapbook of pictures over the year and give it to her at the end of the year
  • Go to Pinterest and search for Girl Scout leader gift ideas and make something from the heart that will be treasured forever
