World Thinking Day 2020

Saturday, March 7, 2020 | 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Al Lesser Building, Adams County Fairgrounds

Booth set up begins at 8:30 am |
Check in begins at 8:30 am

For the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), leadership is a shared journey which empowers us to work together and bring positive change to our lives, the lives of others and wider society. All of us can practice leadership by choosing to explore our “ways of being and thinking about the world” and using what we learn about ourselves to work on our behavior as leaders, every day.

As a Girl Scout, you are part of a special network of girls that stretches across the world. Each year, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from over 150 countries celebrate World Thinking Day—that's one BIG celebration! The WAGGGS World Thinking Day theme of 2020 is “DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION”

At the World Thinking Day event, each registered troop will host a booth with a presentation about the country to share with other troops. Troops may also share food, SWAPS, songs, art, etc. from their chosen region, and should likely plan to use at least 1-2 meetings to prepare their materials. We realize that many first year Daisies and older, or Juliette, Girl Scouts may wish to attend this celebration without hosting a country booth. Girls are welcome to attend as a "tourist" at the same registration cost. (Max. number of tourists allowed will be 50.)

The entry fee is $10 per girl, whether she is part of a hosting troop or a tourist. Troops who register to host a booth will receive both the World Thinking Day official badge AND the official WAGGGS World Thinking Day fun patch. Girls who attend as a tourist will receive only the World Thinking Day fun patch, however, "tourists" are encouraged to visit the WAGGGS booth to pick up information on earning the official badge on their own! They then can purchase the WAGGGS patch here. Adults can purchase GS WTD Patch on Cheddar Up, if they would like one.
